The Human Resource Department
The Human Resource department gives the advice and support to the Rector Magnificus, management and staff of the UoC regarding organizational and personnel affairs.
Purpose of the Human Resource department is to establish, develop, maintain and communicate official policies and procedures through the UoC while keeping the overall best interest of the organization in mind.
The Human Resource department furthermore presents advices to and helps the employees.
The UoC is an ongoing dynamic process of transformation since 2000. Recently UoC has started an accreditation process to obtain the quality mark for it’s higher and academic education and have furthermore developed and defined it’s new 5 year strategic plan and HR. for the time-span of 2011 till 2015.
The UoC has since 2000 chosen to adhere to the philosophy of Human Resources Management which philosophy is a distinctive approach to employment management which seeks to achieve competitive advantage through the strategic deployment of a highly-committed and capable workforce, using an integrated array of cultural, structural and personnel techniques. Beliefs and assumptions of the philosophy of Human Resources state:
• That it is the human resource which gives competitive edge.
• That the aim should be not mere compliance with rules, but employee commitment.
• That therefore employees should be very carefully selected and developed.
The recognition of its human resource as a fundamental and critical success factor underlines the importance given to the workforce of UoC. This is expressed in a Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) since October 2008 with the labour unions.
UoC offers a remuneration and secondary labour conditions (CLA) according to the level of education and experience.
A medical exam, psychological test and police behavior-report are customary parts of the recruitment and selection process.
