The project consisting of three parts is organized
by three institutions, namely: the Monuments Fund Curaçao
(MFC), the University of Curacao, Dr. Moises Da Costa Gomez (UoC) and
the Monuments Bureau (a division of the Department of
Urban and Regional Development Planning and Housing).
In three different modules the emphasis will be laid
both on the
theoretical improvement and on the practical handling
of the information offered. Different levels have been
taken into account, so that the course is accessible
for as large a public as possible. The target group,
therefore, may be called large. Part of the target group
is determined by the students of the architectural engineering
deparment at the UoC, because the larger part of the
course will be included as a fixed item in their curriculum.
In addition, the course is also
suitable and interesting for:
- Architects, contractors,
consultants, developers and others talking part in the
building process.
- Policy-makers and financiers in the field of heritage,
construction and education.
- Interested persons who want to familiarize themselves
with the heritage of Curaçao.
The overall objective of the course
may be summarized in the three following propositions:
- Broadening of the social awareness with regard to
the interest of the cultural Heritage of Curaçao;
- Raising the level of knowledge in the sphere of conservation
of historic monuments and restoration;
- Stimulating of research and exchange of know-how.
At the end of the course the participant will receive
a certificate.
